Composition inspired by De Chirico. With his Metaphysical Painting movement, the Greek-born Italian painter (1888-1978) was an influential figure in the European avant-garde between the wars.
The artist depicts statues installed in spaces structured by an exaggerated central perspective. The theatrical composition of her works relies on clean lines, intense chiaroscuro, geometric planes and voids to create a particular, metaphysical atmosphere.
