REAL CITY, IMAGINARY CITY
Oil on canva
I'm very attached to Montpellier, my city, for its light, its architecture, its culture and its technology. I also have an emotional and human relationship whit her, enriched by my own experience and memories. The paintings in the MONTPELLIER séries establish a link between the real, geographical city and the invented, imaginary and exotic city where, for example, the presence of Africa emerges among other incongruous elements. In this urban scenography, the realism of the description of places meets the fantasy of invention.
The city becomes my mental space, inhabited by presences we forget to see.
My paintings invite you to take a still journey, where you feel like a stranger in your own home as you discover another unusual city. They create a sense of disorientation, bringing together the here and the there.
But they also raise questions. The city's emblematic sites convey messages, in particular through the use of misappropriates toponomastic symbols. Through these references, which function as networks of sometimes enigmatic signs, the urban decor becomes a pretext for questioning current issues: image, consumption, values, rights and leisure.
The city serves as a paradigm for the urban reality of our time and our complex relationship with society.

BROTHERS
Oil on canva
In the series “Les Frangins”, I highlighted the movement, the complicity between brothers and the beautiful blue skies of Montpellier.
A feeling of freedom emerges from these paintings, the scenes are aerial and suspended, outside of time.
The serene carefreeness of the boys shines through.

Océan
Oil on canva
Very attracted to water, I never tire of observing seas and oceans. Through the “Ocean” series, I wanted to show its power, its strength and its softness, the contrast of colors between backlights and sparkles and also the ocean as a vast playground...
